Sophie Kinsella is one of my favourite authors for an enchanting chick flick. Her writing style has me engrossed from start to finish, greedily wanting to know more. Her sense of humour has me laughing all the way through but also makes me feel all the emotions that the protagonist feels. I simply couldn’t put the book down!

The story is about Lexi; a woman that has had a bad car accident and got severe amnesia, therefore totally losing the last three years of her memory. These last three years have proven to be extraordinarily eventful, meaning that her life was totally transformed within this period of time. Her job in this story is to retrace how it all happened and where all this change originated, whilst also trying to maintain her newfound life in a millionaire home, with a beautiful husband and her demanding job. The doctors tell her that she potentially has lost these memories forever, but there is a possibility that she could regain some lost memories by returning to familiar surroundings. With this she learns a great deal from her previous life and how the Cinderella dream was merely an illusion. The book unfolds into a wonderful story of compassion, friendship, loyalty and ultimately trust. It is funny, romantic, endearing…. all the traits you look for in a chick flick!

I would highly recommend reading this book because of its charm, honesty and relatability. I know we aren’t all married to a multimillionaire husband but it seems like a pretty good description as to what it would be like! This book is an easy read for anyone that is stressed, studying hard or working hard and needs a break; it will definitely sweep you right into Lexi’s world, leaving behind reality.
